Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Just bought a new iMac - replacing my old one.  The new one comes with Mojave 10.14.  Now after dowloading drivers from HP, my printer prints BUT only in B&W at 300dpi.  If I print double sided, HP prints page 1 and 4 of a four page document!  I tried dowloaded the drivers TWICE - same results!!!  Seems like HP is not ready for Mojave 10.14!!!   Help!!!

Thanks to Devin at Apple Care, this was just resolved.

Here is how:

  • Go to System Preferences
  • Select Printers
  • Click on + to add a printer [Note: I had aready added the printer using a generic driver, so my printer was already in the list.]
  • Then there is an option to optain the software (drivers) from Apple.
  • Do NOT go to the App store to do this ... do it right on this screen - I did not capture the screen shot, but I think it was a link that said something like "Obtain from Apple".

[Note: After adding another printer with the correct drivers, I deleted the printer I had with the generic drivers]

There is no such "option" for an HP MFP M277c6.
