Hi Support,

I’m having persistent printing issues with an HP DeskJet 2320 (USB-only model) on a MacBook running macOS Tahoe.

What works / detection:

  • The printer is physically detected via USB (it shows under System Settings → Printers & Scanners, and it appears in System Report → USB).

  • The printer powers on normally, but the power button starts flashing when I try to print.

Problem:

  • AirPrint is not working (jobs do not print).

  • When I send a print job, nothing prints (the queue may show the job briefly or it gets stuck, but the printer produces no output).

  • Earlier attempts resulted in only black & white output, but currently it doesn’t print at all.

What I have tried:

  • Hard reset / power cycle of printer (unplug, wait, replug)

  • Removed and re-added printer in Printers & Scanners

  • Tried different USB ports / direct USB connection (no hub)

  • Attempted using AirPrint / Secure AirPrint driver option

Request:
Please advise the correct macOS Tahoe setup for this USB-only DeskJet 2320, including:

  1. Which driver should be used on Tahoe (AirPrint vs HP driver), and where to obtain the correct one

  2. What a flashing power button indicates on the DeskJet 2320 during print attempts

  3. The recommended steps to diagnose whether this is a USB communication issue, cartridge issue, or printer hardware fault

  4. Any Tahoe-specific steps (reset printing system, Print Centre checks, etc.) that resolve USB printing failures

Thanks.
