Hi @RedPJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart App is not executing properly after previously working well, here are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

1. Restart Your Device:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve app issues. Restart your laptop to refresh all processes.

2. Update the HP Smart App:

  • Check for updates to the HP Smart App in the Microsoft Store. Install any available updates, as they might contain bug fixes.

3. Reinstall the App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart App and then reinstall it:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
    2. Find the HP Smart App, select it, and click Uninstall.
    3. Reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store.

4. Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop. Try restarting the printer as well.

5. Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter for apps:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    2. Select Additional troubleshooters and look for any relevant options.

6. Check for Conflicting Software:

  • Some security software or VPNs might interfere with the HP Smart App. Temporarily disable them to see if the app runs properly.

7. Clear App Data:

  • Clearing the app’s cache and data can sometimes resolve issues:
    1. Open Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
    2. Find HP Smart, click on it, and select Advanced options.
    3. Click on Reset.

8. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP website for any available updates.

9. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your Windows 11 is fully updated:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
