Hi @Barry181,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 6600 is displaying a "Printhead Problem" error despite replacing the ink cartridges and attempting a reset, here are some steps you can try:

Check the Printhead:

  • Open the printer access door to expose the printhead and cartridges.
  • Remove the printhead by following the instructions in your printer’s manual.
  • Inspect the printhead for any visible damage or obstruction.
  • Clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid getting the contacts too wet.

Reinstall the Printhead:

  • After cleaning, reinstall the printhead and cartridges.
  • Make sure the printhead is seated correctly and securely.

Perform a Printhead Alignment:

  • Check the printer's menu for an option to align the printhead. This can sometimes resolve issues related to printhead alignment.

Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve issues with printheads. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or debris inside the printer that could affect printhead function.

Replace the Printhead:

  • If the error persists, the printhead itself may be defective. Consider replacing it with a new one, as the printhead can wear out over time.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
