Hi @ECM54785866,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP LaserJet MFP 140we shows as connected, receives print jobs, and completes them, but no paper is physically printed. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm paper is loaded correctly
Remove all paper from the tray and reload it neatly.
Make sure the guides are snug against the paper and not too tight.

Check the paper type and size settings
On the Mac print dialog or HP Smart, confirm the paper size matches what’s loaded (for example, A4 or Letter).
Mismatched paper settings can cause the printer to run without feeding paper.

Print a configuration or demo page from the printer
Use the printer’s control panel to print an information or configuration page.
If this also produces no paper, the issue is hardware or paper-feed related.

Inspect the toner cartridge and protective seal
Open the printer, remove the toner cartridge, and confirm all protective tape or seals were removed.
Reinstall the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.

Power reset the printer
With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
Wait 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet, and turn the printer back on.

Check for stuck or partially fed paper
Open all access doors and look inside the paper path for jammed or misfed paper.
Even a small piece of paper can prevent output without showing a jam error.

Verify print settings are not set to “Blank” or very light
In the print dialog, confirm the print quality is set to Normal.
Extremely light or draft settings should still feed paper, but this confirms settings are correct.

Test printing from another source
Try printing from a different app or device (Mac vs iPhone).
If all devices behave the same, the issue is within the printer rather than the network.

Check printer firmware status
From HP Smart, verify the printer firmware is up to date.
Firmware issues can sometimes cause jobs to complete without physical output.

I hope this helps.
