My printer is connected to the same wifi as my phone but it still wont register the printer

Hi so my printer and phone are connected to the same wifi but it still won't connect to the HP App. My printer says it has a strong wifi connection but it still does not show up as an option to connect to on my phone. What do I do to fix this issue?

@printhelp27, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • Are the printer and mobile device connected to the same network?
  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?
  • What is the distance between the router and the printer?
  • Is there any antivirus software installed on your mobile device?

Meanwhile, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Also,  refer to the document HP Printers - Install and Use the HP Smart App for help with setup.
