HP Smart Tank 580 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

When configuring the printer from the Windows program "HP Smart" the installation was not completed successfully only leaving the printer connected to the internet, but it does not work for printing from the computer because it says "Printer offline" although it shows from the panel that it does have a connection and on the printer the buttons for printing do not work, they all appear off, except for the Wifi and Power buttons, those do appear on.

Hi @ByJuan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer shows as "Printer offline" and is not working properly despite being connected to the internet, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide:

1. Check Printer Status and Connectivity

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Wireless or Network settings and confirm the connection.
  • Print a network configuration page from the printer’s menu to confirm it has a valid IP address.

2. Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer to refresh the system and network settings.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.

3. Check Printer in Windows Settings

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Ensure your HP printer is set as the default printer.
  • Click on your printer in the list and ensure it is not set to Use Printer Offline. If it is, uncheck this option.
  • Remove the printer from the list by selecting it and clicking Remove device. Then, click Add a printer or scanner to re-add it.

4. Use HP Smart for Troubleshooting

  • Open the HP Smart app and try to reconfigure the printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to ensure it is properly set up.
  • Use the HP Smart app to run diagnostics and resolve any issues it detects.

5. Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model. Download and install the latest drivers.
  • Right-click the Start button, select Device Manager, expand Printers, right-click your HP printer, and select Update driver.

6. Verify Printer and Network Settings

  • Ensure the printer’s network settings match those of your network (e.g., correct IP address, subnet mask).
  • If the printer is connected to a different network segment, configure it to match your computer’s network segment.

7. Check Printer Hardware

  • Make sure there are no hardware issues, such as paper jams or low ink levels.
  • Look for any error messages on the printer’s display and follow any suggested actions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
