Hi @MGBinHopkins,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 4255e All-in-One printer printing duplicate text. Let’s go through a few checks.

Check Copy or Print Scaling Settings

Open the document print settings on your computer.

Ensure scaling or “multiple pages per sheet” is disabled.

Confirm paper size matches the loaded paper (for example, Letter or A4).

Print a test page.

Align the Ink Cartridges

Load plain white paper in the input tray.

Open the HP Smart app.

Select the printer, then go to Printer Settings > Tools > Align Printer.

Wait for the alignment page to print and complete the process.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

Remove the printer from Devices and Printers on the computer.

Restart the computer.

Re-add the printer using HP Smart.

Print a test page to verify.

Check for Smearing or Paper Feed Issues

Print a printer self-test or information page.

Observe whether duplicate text appears without using the computer.

Ensure paper guides are snug against the paper stack.

Use clean, flat paper only.

Reset the Printer

Turn the printer on.

Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait 60 seconds.

Reconnect power directly to the wall outlet and turn the printer on.

I hope this helps.
