Hi @TBL4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Could you elaborate more on the issue?

What password you are referring to?

Is it a private (Home network) or a public Wi-Fi connection? Wi-Fi direct? Or Hotspot?
What device are you using the printer with a Windows computer, Mac, Android, or iPhone?

My iPhone 11 with HP smart is not able to find and connect with my printer using my newly installed home Wi-Fi  router. Printer works fine connected to my apple desktop.

Really.
How can that be accurate when my printer worked perfectly with my phone via HP Smart before on my old router? The problem started when I installed the new Eero router. Please explain

Hi @TBL4 ,

Apologies. I have double-checked and yes this printer is compatible with your iPhone.

Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.

There could be a few reasons why your iPhone 11 with HP Smart isn't finding and connecting to your HP M148dw printer on your new home Wi-Fi router:

1. Network Interference:

  • Check for interference: Ensure there are no other devices or appliances emitting strong electromagnetic signals near your router or printer that could interfere with the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Try a different channel: If your router supports it, try switching to a different Wi-Fi channel to avoid interference from other networks.

2. Router Settings:

  • Check Wi-Fi settings: Make sure your router's Wi-Fi is enabled and broadcasting the correct SSID (network name) and password.
  • Enable WPS: If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can try using this feature to quickly connect your printer.

3. Printer Settings:

  • Update printer firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's web interface or using HP Smart.
  • Reset printer settings: If the problem persists, try resetting your printer's network settings to their defaults. This can sometimes resolve connection issues.

4. HP Smart App:

  • Check app permissions: Make sure HP Smart has the necessary permissions to access your device's location, network, and Bluetooth.
  • Uninstall and reinstall: If the issue continues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your iPhone.

5. Compatibility:

  • Check compatibility: Verify that your iPhone 11 and HP M148dw printer are compatible with your router's Wi-Fi standard (e.g., 802.11b/g/n/ac).

If you've tried these steps and are still unable to connect your printer, you may need to contact HP phone support for further assistance via remote assistance to see what is causing the issue.
