Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

Need full version of printer assistant for my HP 5850 printer using Windows XP.

I've been reinstalling the software for my HP 5850 printer but the printer assistant doesn't have all the features working.

Does anyone know where I can download the full version of printer Assistant so I can get all the features working? Like "Check ink levels"

 It tells me "The function selected is not available. The full featured HP driver could not be accessed. It is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the driver using the printer software" I've done that more than once but nothing changed. Can anyone help?

I have two HP 5850 printers that work just GREAT but it would be a real help to get the printer assistant working correctly again.
