Product: Deskjet 1112
Operating System: macOS 10.12 Sierra

Hi, I figured it would be a miracle if I tried setting up my new printer and it actually worked. Nope. And it's not a fancy one. I loaded the software, got it registered, got it put on the printer list, but when I try to print the one test page, I get a "Filter Error" message. I've started over two more times to no avail. I've checked the connections, turned it on and off, tried to print out a different document, but same message. FYI, I'm far from competent as far as fixing computer things that don't cooperate. It's a model from a couple of years back, but had never been opened. Could it be that the cartridges aren't any good, even though they're brand new? Thanks for any help.
