Hi @Lostman12

  1. Check the Packaging and Contents:

    • Double-check the printer box and packaging materials to ensure the setup cartridges weren't overlooked.
  2. Contact the Retailer:

    • Reach out to the retailer or seller where you purchased the printer. Explain the situation and see if they can provide the missing setup cartridges or offer a solution.
  3. Contact HP Support:

    • You can contact HP Support directly for assistance. They may be able to provide setup cartridges or offer an alternative solution.
    • Prepare your proof of purchase and printer details (model number, serial number) for this interaction.
  4. Use Regular HP Cartridges:

    • While some printer models specifically require setup cartridges for initial configuration, many models allow you to use standard HP cartridges. Install standard cartridges and see if the printer will accept them.
    • If the printer displays an error or won’t accept standard cartridges initially, you might still need guidance from HP Support.
  5. Firmware or Software Update:

    • Once you get the printer working, ensure that your printer’s firmware is updated, as some updates can resolve initialization issues and improve compatibility with standard cartridges.
