I purchased the printer/copier earlier this year. The set-up was smooth and the machine operated immediately. My previous printer was the HP InkJet P1006. It lasted for almost 10 years. It only printed B&W, but I found it adequate for my needs. It operated quickly and silently and it was very satisfactory. The rollers had a flattened side and I could not find a l.ocal store to fix it. I purchased this model as it combined printing and copying in a single machine. Having used rhe printer/copier for several weeks, I have a few issues to speak of. The machine operates well; there is no problem with the machine performing its functions. What stands out about the machine is that it is slower than the previous printer. It takes about 20-25 seconds to print a single page. I use rhe copier very little, but I would say copying takes about the same amount of time. Another aspect of the machine is that it is quite noisy. For the first 10 seconds, nothing happens, then the machine begins grinding, ratlling and raising a ruckus as if it resents being awakened to start working. It then begins a rapid "start-and-stop" sound as if it were sputtering. It ejects a portion of a page as if it were finished, then withdraws the page back into the printer as if it had omitted a part of the image and withdrew the sheet to complete the task. A very strange sequence of rendering a page for a user. The page is finally ready for ejection and the page is sent to the "arm" to prevent the document from falling to the floor. I guess in becoming familiiar with current technology, we must become accustomed to different "things" machines do in performing their assigned tasks. I can look away from the machine for a few seconds to attend to other matters and return to the machine when it ends it noisy process of offering me a copy or a printed document. I guess that could be a benefit when the machine is communicating its functions loud enough for me to hear what it is doing and alerting me as to how much longer before it deposits its output onto the stacking "arm".
Isn't technology grand?
