IN SET UP INSTRUCTIONS HP SAYS I CAN ORDER A CD WITH SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS ETC ON IT. HOW DO I DO THAT?

IF such is still available for your device, the information will be available in the device Category Software and Drivers

First you will need to know the type and model of your device.

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Scroll down and check the sub-categories.

After spending about 6 hours trying to get our new HP ENVY PHOTO 7855 to work, the same problem keeps coming up. When trying to download software and drivers this printer needs (which by all that's holy should have been provided when we purchased it), my computer blocks the downloads as being "possibly harmful" to my system. I have worked with their "virtual agent" and turned off every security thing I know of, but still cannot download any of this.We now are able to print via a wireless set up, but the printer still shows as offline and missing drivers.  Thanks for your suggestion, but I am out of energy and patience.

We don't control most of the answers - CD's are  not included - "Just is" kind of answer.  😐

Best that you create a new thread:

Assign a subject, describe your issue, and ask for help.

What else?

Blocking downloads is not a printer software issue.

It is Windows or your Browser preventing you from downloading "something" to your computer.

Security Software - Windows / Browser

The first place to have checked is whether your Security Software is blocking the installation.

Most security software is wary of software it does not recognize.

Check the security software for a means to "allow" blocked installations / connections.

The next thing to have tried: 

Use a different browser or set your current browser to not be so protective.

What else?

Be sure your network is set up to accommodate the printer.

This printer will provide best service when connected via Ethernet from printer to your network.

OR

Printer supports dual band wireless - this means the manner in which the printer is connected to Wireless makes a difference.

For example,

On the router,

If router supports both bands, set router to broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz,

Assign a separate SSID (network name) for each band

Connect the printer to the SSID (network name) you intend to use

Method - Create TCP IP port

Find printer's IP /  IPv4 address

Print a Configuration Page

OR

Tap on the wireless icon on Printer Control / Display Panel

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

 Right-Click on the printer > Left-Click Printer Properties

 Select Tab Ports  > Add Port

 Select Standard TCP/IP Port > New Port and follow the wizard.
 Use / Enter IP address for the printer.
