Hi @Watsonsus,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer, especially after changing internet providers. The message indicating that "built-in network capabilities have been disabled" often stems from network settings or configurations that need to be reset or modified.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue:

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup.
  • Select Tools and then choose Restore Factory Defaults. This will reset the printer’s settings to their original state, which can help restore network capabilities((.

Re-enable Network Features:

  • After the factory reset, check the Network Setup menu. You may need to select options like Wireless Setup Wizard to re-enable wireless connectivity((.

Connect to the New Wi-Fi Network:

  • Once network capabilities are enabled, go back to the Wireless settings and use the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network. Ensure you enter the correct Wi-Fi password(.

Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Sometimes, network issues can arise from outdated firmware. After reconnecting to the internet, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and install them((.

Ensure Router Compatibility:

  • Since you changed internet providers, make sure that the new router settings are compatible with your printer. Check if the router is set to 2.4GHz, as some older printers have issues with 5GHz networks
