Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting cartridge issue on HP Photosmart D110a Printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
When did this issue start?
Did you do any hardware or software changes?
Meamwhile
Remove, inspect, and then reinstall the ink cartridge.

With the power on, open the front access door. The carriage moves to the center of the printer. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.

Lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out to remove it from its slot.

CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles with your skin. This can result in clogs, ink failure, or bad electrical connections.

Make sure that there is not any plastic tape on the ink cartridge.

Check the copper-colored electrical contacts for debris, and go to Step 3: Clean the contacts for instructions on how to clean the contacts. If there is no debris visible, continue to the next step.

Hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the nozzles toward the printer, and then insert the ink cartridge into its color-coded slot until it snaps into place. Make sure that the icon on the ink cartridge matches the icon on the slot.

Insert the tri-color ink cartridge in the slot on the left.

Insert the black ink cartridge in the slot on the right.

Close the front access door.

Print a page to see if the printer displays the same message.
Clean the contacts
-
Gather the following materials:
-
Distilled water (tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the ink cartridge)

Cotton swabs, coffee filter, or other soft, lint-free material
-
Clean sheet of paper
-

Open the front access door. The carriage moves to the center of the printer. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.

Unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out to remove it from its slot.

Place the ink cartridge on a sheet of paper with the copper strips facing up.
CAUTION:
Clean the ink cartridges one at a time. Do not leave an ink cartridge outside of the printer for more than 30 minutes.

Clean the copper-colored contacts.
-
Lightly moisten the lint-free material with distilled water and squeeze out any excess water.

Gently wipe the ink cartridge copper contacts clean until there is no ink residue or debris on the cloth.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the ink nozzles with your skin. This can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

Repeat this process on the other ink cartridge.

Clean the carriage contacts.
-
Lightly moisten the lint-free material with distilled water and squeeze out any excess water.

Clean the electrical contacts in the carriage that holds the ink cartridges.
NOTE:
The carriage image might not look exactly like the carriage area in your printer, but the steps are the same for cleaning the electrical contacts in your printer.

Wait 10 minutes to allow the ink cartridge and carriage electrical contacts to dry.

Reinstall the ink cartridges. Make sure the ink cartridges snap in place and the icon on the ink cartridge matches the icon on the slot.

Connect the power cord to the back of the printer, and then press the Power button to turn on the printer.

Close the front access door.
-
Print a page to see if the printer displays the same message.
Reset the printer

Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product.
-
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 15 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
-
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button (
) to turn it on.
