Hi @Pete566,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

What you’re seeing (numbers like 01004 000 0 600x600) instead of the normal Plain Paper / Glossy / Matte options usually happens when:

  • The full HP printer driver didn’t install correctly.

  • Windows is using a basic built-in driver instead of the HP driver.

  • The printer software may have gotten corrupted after a Windows update.

  1. Remove the current printer driver

    • Press Windows + R, type control printers, press Enter.

    • Right-click your HP Envy 6120e → select Remove device.

    • If asked, also remove the driver package.

  2. Reinstall using HP Smart / Full Driver

    • Go to the HP Software and Driver page.

    • Enter your model → download the Full Feature Software and Driver (not just “basic” or “add printer”).

    • Install and follow the on-screen setup to reconnect your printer.

  3. Check printing preferences again

    • After reinstall, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

    • Right-click your printer → Printing Preferences.

    • You should now see normal options like Plain Paper / HP Photo Paper / Draft / Best Quality instead of numbers.

I hope this helps.
