I keep having to update my print apps after power down in order to 'Scan to Email' as the updated apps and shortcut will not remain on my printer.  How can I save these settings so that I do not have to keeping updating the print apps?  The emails are saved on the 'Scan to Email' app itself but the updated apps all disappear after a power down.

Hi @Heaven10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand the print app shortcut does not remain on the screen.

Try the below suggestions-

 Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I'm afraid your suggestion has not resolved the issue.  The firmware on my printer appears to be up-to-date according to messages on the printer and on the PC.  Updated print apps still won't save.  I have tried again just now.

We can perform a factory default on the printer and check if that helps!

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
