When I print, my computer shows a sign saying "printer needs user intervention". Then I run "print and scan doctor" and it shows the "device status" error and says that I need to look in the printer for an error message. Now here is the problem: there is no error message in the printer; even more, the printer prints with no problem anything internal (such as the test page) and copies with no problem. So there is no problem in the printer but the software believes there is. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and factory reset the printer but problem remains the same. Any suggestion? Thanks

Hi,

From C:\Program Files (x86)\HP, delete the Diagnostics tab.

Now follow below version of HP Print and Scan Doctor, specially created for such conditions

Note: if an update is offered when launching the utility, close the update dialog using its X button and then follow the utility .

Hello Shlomi, THANKS for your answer, this is what happened:

I ran the version of HPPSdr you indicated and this time it didn't show the device status, but it prompted me to restart the computer, and after I did, the program reopened automatically and showed the error again. BUT I tried printing a page and the printer did print it, what confirms that what the software says is not what is going on in the printer itself.

So should I run the software in the future but forcing it to close after it finishes instead of restarting the computer?

Thanks
