HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer

The printer paper size remains at 5 X 7 and I can't change it back to 8 X 10.  It will print 8 X 10 from the tests and from the computer, but will not print this size when using the manual feed application

Hi @NoJobsin01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer paper settings!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer is stuck on 5x7 paper size when using the manual feed, try these steps to reset it back to 8x10:

1. Check Printer Settings in HP Smart App or Control Panel

  • Open HP Smart or go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Find your printer and right-click > Select Printing Preferences.
  • Look for Paper/Quality or Paper Size and change it to 8x10.
  • Click Apply and OK.

2. Change Paper Size on the Printer Display (if applicable)

  • Navigate to Setup or Settings on the printer.
  • Select Paper Setup or Tray Settings.
  • Adjust the paper size for the manual feed tray.

3. Adjust Paper Size in Printer Driver

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select Printer Properties.
  • Go to the Advanced tab and select Printing Defaults.
  • Ensure the manual feed tray is set to 8x10.

4. Try Resetting the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart.

5. Ensure Manual Feed Tray is Correctly Loaded

  • Make sure the paper guides are correctly set for 8x10.
  • Remove any smaller paper sizes that might be confusing the sensor.

If the issue persists, let me know what happens when you try these steps! 😊
