I am having a similar issue trying to load the most recent firmware (2011) for OS 10.2.

I have the drivers and software downloaded but when the firmware updater opens, nothing happens beyond device discovery.

Any advice?

Welcome to the HP support community.

Are you trying to update the printer firmware for HP Officejet Pro 8600?

If not, provide the printer model number or the product number.

Thank you for responding...

My  objective is to be able to print from my computer, which is a MacBook Pro with Big Sur (OS 11.2.3).

The model number of my HP Office Jet 8600 Premium is CN577 64001.

I've downloaded and initiated Easy Start but receive the message "No devices have been found."

The device is powered on, all of the cables are connected, wireless access is enabled, etc., etc.

So I image one necessary step is to get my computer to recognize the existence of the printer.

Thanks,

Do you want to connect the printer to the Mac using USB or Wireless.

Meanwhile:-

Install the printer using the Apple Airprint.

Hi Sandy,

I have gone through the steps for loading via USB cable and wireless several times, but neither option works. Even had my internet provider change our password to make sure it's not the issue. Still, wireless set up continues to state that the password is incorrect.  Why is that?

And the USB attempt results in the message "NO DEVICES HAVE BEEN FOUND." Why is that?

Finally, with HP EASY Start, is it necessary to load the firmware? If so, how does one do so when the firmware won't load.

Re: Unable to Update Firmware on HP Officejet Pro 8600N911g Model: CM750A

Computer System is OS 11.2.3

Thanks!

Please advise. Thank you!
