Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP Officejet Pro 276dw printer that is connected via ethernet to my network. I can access the EWS website, but I can not change any settings because they are locked. I can not log in with the admin user. I tried:

Username: admin

Password: admin or empty

I also tried the following suggestions:

🔧Method 1: Use the Printer Control Panel (Touchscreen Models)

Go to the Home screen on the printer.
Tap the Setup or Settings icon (gear symbol).
Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
Select Restore or Restore Defaults.
Choose Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.

This will reset all settings, including the admin password and Wi-Fi configuration

-> No effect. All settings are still locked.

🔧Method 2: Use the HP Smart App or Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.
Go to Advanced Settings to open the Embedded Web Server.
Navigate to Settings > Restore Defaults.
If prompted for a password, try:
Username: admin
Password: admin or the PIN found on a sticker inside the printer (usually near the cartridges).
-> No effect. All settings are still locked. No PIN sticker found inside or outside the printer.

🔧Method 3: Printer reset using the Engineering Menu

Enter the Engineering Menu by pressing 1 x Home, 1 x Back, 2 x Home

Choose Service Menu

Choose Resets Menu

Choose Partial Reset or Semi-full Reset or OOBE reset

-> No effect. I tried all three reset options. But the settings in EWS are still locked.

How can I reset my printer and access all the setting in the EWS?
