so, after I rebooted my router, printer stops working (for the 10th time), so I had to uninstall and reinstall driver using HP smart, as I have done so before.

However now it requests SETUP type cartridge, and refuses to print anything.

I would update the firmware, but the PIN that is on the sticker inside the cartridge lid is not accepted - it says incorrect PIN. 

 

So, another printer stops working due to "accidental" software fault right after warranty expired. I'm definitely never buying anything else from this damned company again

I understand you are receiving a "use setup cartridges" error.

 

We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the support private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Could you also share an image of the screen requesting a PIN?
