I had an issue connecting my HP printer to my new laptop. When I tried all attempts to no avail I used the support option on the HP site. This led to someone outside of (but authorized by) HP to contact me and access my laptop. I figured out what was going on and disconnected. Apparently, they are authorized by HP to provide tech support but attempt

to to sell you additional services as part of the process!

HP doesn't engage 3rd parties. More likely you happened upon one of the many scam sites that look real and could fool anyone. I have escalated your post to the moderators and they may contact you for details as HP actively works to shut down sites like this.
