HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP. I had problems with wireless printing. So I watched some HP Support videos and updated the printer's firmware and driver. Wireless printing is ok but I can't scan. I've downloaded the "Full Solution Driver" and wireless printing problem is solved but I don't have any program for scanning wirelessly. Please give me a link to download the scan driver or tell me the steps to solve this problem.

Thank You

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

To diagnose the scan issue, check the copy function.

If copy works fine, it may be a software issue. Try the steps below:

  • Run the Print and Scan Doctor
  • Check Windows Image Acquisition settings

If issue persists, let me know if you get any error message while scanning.

The 2nd solution in the instruction link you gave me solved the scanner app problem. Thank you for that. In addition to this, I can scan with my usb cable connected on my computer but I can't scan wirelessly. As I remember, I could do that last time I used the device (3 years ago). Am I wrong? Isn't it possible to use the scan app without cable connection? If it is possible, please help me on how to make it?

Thank you in advance.

I'm glad that you are now able to scan using USB connection. Scan should work using Wireless connection also.

Do you get any error message while trying to scan?

Meanwhile, try the steps below:

Create a Manual Connection for Your Networked HP Printer and disable IPv6. Follow the steps below:
Open the embedded web server (EWS)
(Open the Network Setup on your printer to find the IP address. In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser: http://192.168.0.12.)
Click the Network or Networking tab, and then open the section or page for your network type: wired or wireless.
Click Manual IP.
If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
On the Network or Networking tab, and then open Network protocol under general
Select Enable IPv4 only (or similar)
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
Restart the Printer and try scanning again.

Keep me posted.
