Hello.  I am simply trying to save the network folder location of the 'Default' option within 'Scan to Network Folder'.  However, when I select it (currently a Local contact within my Address Book) and do a successful scan, this location immediately resets back to 'Select Network Folder'.  How do I force this location to save between scan jobs?

The first image below shows the menu-screen where I can't save the network folder.  Note that the second image represents a Quickset with the destination that I want to use for the Default option in the first image (this destination is also the same one that I created as a Local contact in the Address Book).

Please help!

As a follow-up to my own post, it's my understanding that somewhere in the below printer-menu I should be able to save the default save-folder path, but as you can see this option isn't there.  Any ideas where I would set it?

Creating a shortcut with the destination you want is typically how this is handled.

1)  EWS - Scan to Network

It seems logical that "Default Job Options" might include a path.

In so much that I have found,

There is not a setting to change / edit / create a path in

Scan > Scan to Network Folder > Default Job Options

In the context of Quick Sets and Scan to Network Profile(s),

Each Quick Set is a separate entity - that is:

Each Quick Set contains the destination for that Quick Set

In the example below, three Quick Sets are listed -

Each Quick Set includes it's own Destination setup.

Sample Quick Sets as listed in the sample:

  • One Drive - HP Smart - Save Image > Local OneDrive Account mapped as a Folder in the user's own account
  • Dragon Data  > NAS Storage Device on the local network
  • Tests Folder > Local Folder in the user's own account on the computer

The first example illustrates how to set up a Quick Set > Network Folder for a local OneDrive account and sub-folder.

The second example is a break down on the Scan > Scan to Network Folder > Default Job Options setup

Windows - HP Universal Scan / HP Scan

Consider this section as FYI only - Use or Ignore...

Save as PDF

If you are willing to do so,

HP / Scan / HP Universal Scan (part of the full solution software OR as a standalone software)

HP Scan / HP Universal Scan is run in in your Windows environment -

The software supports options to create Custom Shortcuts that include different Destinations.

Leaving a Shortcut / Custom Shortcut selected when you exit HP Scan / HP Universal Scan causes that shortcut to be the Preferred shortcut -- that is, a temporary Default.  The  selected "default" stays selected until changed during a different session of HP Scan / HP Universal Scan.

Example - Windows - HP Scan / HP Universal Scan Software

Save as PDF - Destination - Sub-Menus Send To and File Type
