Hi

I've been dealing with printing delays since 07/23. I want to print 3 documents of 1 page each. The first one prints right away, but the next one takes maybe 5 minutes to print and the next one 5 minutes later. I haven't figured out what could be causing this. The only common denominator is that everyone has an HP LaserJet. But they are different types. Someone has Win 10, someone has Win 11, someone has just Home, someone has Pro, but they all have HP laser printers. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Thank you.

Common cause of this issue is the use of either a Microsoft IPP or Class driver and not an actual HP driver. On your computer go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the dropdown menu. Click on the advanced tab and it will show the driver being used. Also check the type of port by clicking the port tab and seeing what port is checkmarked. On a networked printer if the port name starts with WSD that is another factor that can cause speed issues. If you find either of the two above I strongly recommend you delete the printer, download the HP Smart UPD driver and reinstall.

@Elohi_NR

Hi thanks for the reply. I don't have any serial number or printer name. I do support many customers and many of them who have a LaserJet printer from HP have problems with it. It is not a specific type but different types of LaserJet do it so I do not have the name or serial number.

@Repairatrooper

 So resetting the printer by unplugging the power cord from the printer after turning it on and then reconnecting it to the printer after 2 minutes and directly to the socket did not help. I tried looking at the drivers but they are correct. The usb port is fine too. Any idea what to try please?01.jpg02.jpg

My recommendation would be to try the new Smart Universal Printer Driver. I have seen very good success with this driver on a variety of devices.

So I tried reinstalling the drivers, switched to PCL-6 V4 and it worked for 3 hours then again it started to dry in the queue. I also tried installing the Smart Universal Printer Driver but that only worked for 10 min. Any idea please?

Looking at your screenshots you are accessing the computer with remote desktop software? Are you attempting to print through the remote portal or are you simply providing support that way? If possible I would encourage connection via network and not USB for the printer for better performance.

Yes, I connect to my customers through AnyDesk because they are from all over the country. And their printers don't have the possibility to connect via LAN or WIFI but only USB.
And I appreciate your efforts because I found out that if the printer is not already under warranty I can't get official support.
