@btaffet, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Carriage Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When the printer carriage does not move to the center upon installation, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Ensure Printer Is Turned On: Check that the printer is powered on. The carriage will not move if the printer is off.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Obstructions:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Ensure there are no items blocking the carriage movement.
- Gently try to move the carriage manually.
Clean the Cartridge Path:
- Disconnect the power cord with the printer turned on to avoid the risk of electrical shock.
- Clear any paper or objects obstructing the carriage.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
