Turn off MFP M281fdw fax receive

How do I turn off the fax receive function on my printer while maintaining the fax send function?  I do not want the printer to pick up the phone every time I receive a phone call.

Stop Fax from answering incoming Fax:

Switch OFF Automatic Answer

Set the printer to answer fax calls automatically.
a. Turn the printer on.
b. From the control panel, open the Setup menu.
c. Select the Fax Setup menu.
d. Select the Basic Setup menu.
e. Select the Answer Mode setting, and then select the Automatic option.

To simply control when / if the auto-answer setting picks up a call,

Set the number of rings higher than the number of rings used by the Answer Machine.

No answer machine on the line?  Not relevant.

The suggestion to TURN ON automatic answer and set the number of rings to 9 was the correct solution.  It now works.  Previously, my fax was sent to manual answer which caused the problem.
