Had 3 weeks of HP support hell with the purchase of a new printer to replace an older HP ENvy.  The printer was used at home as a local printer for RDP printer redirect.   Issue has been around for about 10 years now.

I went round and round with HP support on this and they wont support what was a working configuration with newer printers ... had rdp print redirect working for years and needed to upgrade client's multiple locations and got this error.  HP told me the OJ9010 the client had purchased wasn't on RDP supported list so we sent them and back and got LJM479 which is on their supported printer list.  Same error but they still wouldn't look at issue as they keep saying I have a bad configuration.

Many folks have said go to a Brother printer and that is what I would suggest.  HP has gone downhill and I will sell my clients other brands of servers, laptops, desktops, switches, thin clients, printers, scanners and plotters.

My client didn't want to send a whole batch of printers back yet again so I told them I would try a utility from a company that I have used to share USB devices in a TS/RDP/RDC environment.  I am not a rep for these guys but am really happy how easy it was to get the printing to work with tsPrint from terminalworks ... it's another solution and can help you out where HP fails.

Is there anyone that has run into this and fixed it differently than the options I posted?
