Hi @duckboat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 9120e printer’s software is not loading while other software installs fine. Let’s go through a few steps to identify and resolve the issue.

Check System Requirements
Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the HP 9120e software (operating system version, available storage space, and RAM).
Verify that your operating system is up to date with the latest updates installed.

Run Installer as Administrator
Right-click on the HP software setup file and select “Run as administrator.”
This can help bypass certain permission restrictions that prevent proper installation.

Disable Security Software Temporarily
Sometimes, antivirus or firewall software can block installation.
Temporarily disable your antivirus/firewall and try installing again.
(Remember to re-enable them once the installation is complete.)

Clear Previous HP Software
Uninstall any older or incomplete HP printer software from Control Panel > Programs and Features (Windows) or Applications (Mac).
Restart the computer after uninstalling to clear leftover files.

Use HP Easy Start
Instead of the CD or default installer, download the latest HP Easy Start setup package directly from HP’s official website.
This tool automatically finds the correct drivers and software for your model.

Check for Windows Installer Service Issues (Windows Only)
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Locate Windows Installer in the list and ensure it’s set to Manual or Automatic and is running.
If it’s stopped, right-click and choose Start.

Install in a Clean Boot Environment (Advanced)
Perform a clean boot to load only essential Windows services.
This helps identify if third-party apps are interfering with the installation.
After installing, return the system to normal startup.

I hope this helps.
