Hello everyone! I'm Ilary and I'm new in this community! Sorry for my not perfec english!
I've just bought a new printer, HP LASER JET M110we, it's my own gift for my birthday.
My problem is that my notebook HP bought in 2009 is running Windows XP professional service pack 3, version 2002.
I knew about the possibility that there was no drivers available for my OS so old, but it's working so good and I don't find the reason to change it.
I heard about generic drivers available to solve this problem, is it true?
Yew, I know I can use my smartphone with wi-fi, but I need the same to print from the notebook
Can somebody help me?
Thank you so much in advance for your kind reply!
Ilary

Hi Ilary,
A USB connection would not work without a driver, but an alternative driver can be tried through a network connection.
You may try an alternative driver of another PCLmS printer compatible with Windows XP, such as the M125 printer.
Please download and run below drivers:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/LES/M125/LJPro_MFP_M125-126_drv-only_15309_1.exe
Note the extraction location as you would need to use it later while creating a print queue
Also, print a Configuration Page to locate the IP Address of the network connected printer:
To add a print queue, please follow below steps:
- Click Start->Printers and Faxes (Windows XP). This is also in the control panel.
- Click Add a printer.
- Select Local printer attached to this computer (XP).
- Select Create a new port: and select Standard TCP/IP port from the pop down.
- Click Next.
- Windows XP will launch a wizard to add the TCP/IP Port.
- Click Next.
- Enter the hostname or IP address of the printer.
- If Windows is unable to find the printer, make sure it is on and that the hostname is correct.
- Click finish.
- click Have Disk and browse to the extracted folder and select the M125 printer.
- Enter a name for the printer.
- Do not share the printer.
- Print a test page to make sure it installed properly.
