Hi @Angelg0412,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re trying to set up wireless printing, but the printer says it’s already registered to another account. Let’s go through a few steps to remove the previous registration and get it connected to your Wi-Fi.

Understand what “already registered” means
This message means the printer is still linked to the previous owner’s HP account.
It does not mean the printer is locked or unusable.

Restore the printer to factory defaults
Turn the printer on and access the Settings menu on the control panel.
Choose Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings and confirm.

Restore network settings
From the printer’s Settings or Network menu, select Restore Network Settings.
The wireless light should blink, indicating the printer is back in setup mode.

Restart the printer and Wi-Fi router
Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
Restart the router, wait until it is fully online, then power the printer back on.

Install or open the HP Smart app
On your computer or mobile device, open the HP Smart app.
Sign in with your own HP account or create one if needed.

Add the printer to your HP account
In HP Smart, select Add Printer or Set Up a New Printer.
Follow the on-screen steps to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Confirm the printer is removed from the previous account
If HP Smart prompts that the printer is already registered, choose the option to claim or add the printer.
This completes ownership transfer after the factory and network reset.

Verify printer status
Once setup is complete, confirm the printer shows as Ready or Idle in HP Smart.
Try printing a test page to confirm wireless printing works.

After these steps, the printer should be fully disconnected from the previous owner and registered to your account, allowing normal wireless printing and scanning.

I hope this helps.
