Hi @Bosco1313,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If Word is not printing in color while other programs are, it could be due to a variety of reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your printer settings within Microsoft Word are set to print in color. You can usually find this option in the print dialog box by clicking on "Properties" or "Printer Properties" and then looking for a color option.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP Officejet 8100 Pro printer. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues with printing, including problems with color.
  • Print Preview: Before printing, check the print preview in Word to see if the document appears in color. If it does, then the issue might be with the printer settings or drivers.
  • Test with Another Document: Try printing a different Word document to see if the issue persists. If it's only happening with one document, the problem may be specific to that file.
  • Check Printer Defaults: Confirm that the default settings for your printer are configured to allow color printing. You can access these settings through the Control Panel or your printer's software.
  • Restart Word and Printer: Sometimes simply restarting both Word and your printer can resolve printing issues.
  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your printer has sufficient ink levels for color printing. Low ink levels can affect the quality and availability of color printing.
  • Print from Another Device: If possible, try printing the Word document from another device to see if the issue is specific to your computer.
  • Check for Updates: Make sure Microsoft Word is up to date. Updates can sometimes address compatibility issues with printers.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with Word not printing in color on your HP Officejet 8100 Pro printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
