Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Believe problems started after w10 upgrade 1809, installed 2 weeks ago, in Jan 19.

Now alignment page always prints [perfectly, in colour] on every power on, with full ink colour cartridge showing.[This is a genuine hp xl, nearly full, and expiry date on box= Nov.19] It has been working perfectly on W10 1903.  Then can't print any more and message says colour catridge damaged or failed.  If I replace colour cartridge with and old, nearly empty one, I can print ok!

  • Cleaned the contacts on cartridge and machine.
  • I have re-installed printer and drivers [latest from hp website].
  • Disconnected USB, scanned test page, turned off and on, still prints test page.
  • Tried to unregister/reregister a .dll = cmd: "regsvr32 /u HPStatusBL.dll." Message = "Hpstatusbl.ddl specified module could not be found"
  • Ran system file check.

Thought I might need to edit the registry, but can't find out how to do it for these issues.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I've spent days trying to sort this.

Many thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to help!

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'm afraid this would confirm an issue with the ink cartridge as the previous ink cartridge works fine.

As the ink is still in-warranty, please Contact HP Support regarding this.

You may also try the steps mentioned in this document if you have not tried any.

Hope this helps!

Hi Asmita6658

Thanks for trying to help.

I have been trying for hours get in touch  via Contact HP Support - the link you gave in your reply.

How on earth do I find a phone number, or an on-line chat line, or an email address, posting a message or some way of dealing with a real person?!

I just keep getting links to click on which tell me things to try which are not relevant. So, your "As the ink is still in-warranty, please Contact HP Support regarding this." suggestion I have not been able to resolve.  Am I missing something?

I have also tried the steps mentioned in the "document" link already, which didn't work,  but thanks for showing me that too.

Any further help would be much appreciated.

Regards
