the Reference Guide says to refer to the online user guide for error codes.  When I try to access the user guide, the linke appears broken returning the test "page not found".  How do I get to the user guide?

that is the link I reported as broken.  it returns a message "page not found"

I think you have a problem with your internet!
When I click on the (red marked) link

then the PDF file = manual is loaded and opened.

OK, now I can access the manual.  I was using Internet Explorer which has a lot of built-in protection plus some I added to ward off Bots and Trackers.  Websites generally provide a message if the protection is preventing proper operation, but the HP website did not.  I used Microsoft Edge to access the web page and had no problem, probably I have not spent the time to set up all the defenses in it.
