@Zactool, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 4500 Printing Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're unable to print from your HP Envy 4500 despite having it installed on your Microsoft laptop, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Connection: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your laptop. If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged in. If using a wireless connection, verify that the printer is connected to the same network as your laptop.

Printer Status: Verify the printer is powered on and doesn't show any error lights on the control panel. A blue wireless status light indicates a successful wireless connection.

Printer Queue: Access your printer queue by going to Devices and Printers in the Control Panel. Make sure there are no pending or stuck print jobs. If there are, clear the queue.

Driver and Software: Ensure that the printer driver and software are up to date. You can check for updates by going to HP's official support website.

Print Settings: Verify that the printer is set as the default printer in your computer settings. Also, check that the correct paper type and size are selected in the printing preferences.

Network Troubleshooting: If connected wirelessly, use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help diagnose network-related issues.

Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and laptop can resolve some connectivity issues.

Testing Wireless Connection: You can print a wireless network test report from the printer's control panel to check the connection status.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
