Deskjet 2755 printer copier scanner...black and white copies are coming out reduced to tiny size, but this machine has no enlarge/reduced control on its panel...I didn't know it could do that...how do I return it to normal size?

Hi @tecnicaly2slow,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your HP DeskJet 2755 printer is suddenly producing copies that are reduced in size, even though it doesn't have explicit enlarge/reduce controls on the panel, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart. This clears temporary memory errors that can cause scaling problems.

Reset Copy Settings via HP Smart App

  • Install or open the HP Smart app (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
  • Use the app’s Copy function instead of the printer’s panel.
  • Ensure scaling is set to 100% (Actual Size). Even though the panel doesn’t show scaling, the app controls it.

Restore Factory Defaults

  • On the printer, press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds.
  • This resets network and copy settings back to default.
  • Try copying again — it should return to full size.

Update Firmware

  • Go to HP’s support site for the Deskjet 2700/2755 series.
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.
  • Firmware patches often fix copy distortion issues.

Take care and have an amazing day!
