OS is win 10 64 bit. Problem solved with support by configuring using an alternative computer and connecting over a wifi connedtion. My primary workstation doew not have wife, Once connection was via wifi, rather than ethernet, install proceeded with not problem. HP needs to modify the documentation to indicate that setting up over ethernet is an issue and you need to use wifi.
