@bunnyd, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering the "Universal Print Application unable to print" error on your HP ENVY 6100e series printer with Windows 11, here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check System Requirements

Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for the HP Universal Print Application (HP UPA):

  • Windows 11 (preferably version 24H2 or later)
  • HP Smart App version 153 or later
  • Internet connection
  • Supported printer model (HP ENVY 6100e is supported)

Reinstall HP Smart and HP UPA

  1. Uninstall the HP Smart app from your PC.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Download and install the latest version of HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. HP Smart
  4. During installation, HP UPA will be installed automatically.

Re-add the Printer

  1. Open HP Smart and sign in with your HP account.
  2. Click “Add Printer” and follow the prompts to reconnect your HP ENVY 6100e.
  3. Ensure the printer is connected via Wi-Fi or USB as per your setup.

Use Microsoft IPP Class Driver (Workaround)

If the issue persists, you can switch to the Microsoft IPP Class Driver:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Remove the existing printer.
  3. Click “Add a printer or scanner”.
  4. Select “The printer I want isn’t listed”.
  5. Choose “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname”.
  6. Use the printer’s IP address and select Microsoft IPP Class Driver when prompted.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
