I have been unable to get my printer back online since changing my network provider. I rang HP support and the technician wanted remote access to my computer. I was unsure, but as I had rung the official support number, I assumed he was ok. I was very nervous having someone controlling my computer, and then he pointed out I had no firewall and that my computer had lots of foreign somthings downloaded and then tried to sell me a firewall protection package. When I said I just wanted my printer to be back online and that I would call him back if after considerating options he hung up! I realise he can't have been working for HP as he didn't fix my printer issue, and now I am left upset and anxious about what information he has taken from my computer. HP must be aware this is happening! How is the number you are giving out on your website be so unsafe! This is awful. What can I do to secure my computer now?

I followed this link, not realised it was the US one. There is a purple strip at the top advertising Black Friday sale and the Tech support number: [Content Removed]
I feel so stupid and upset and not sure what I can do protect myself now.
