Hi @PPauly,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To deactivate automatic firmware updates on your HP OfficeJet 8015e using Windows 10 (64-bit), follow the steps below:

Method 1: Using the HP Smart App

  1. Open HP Smart on your computer.
  2. Select your OfficeJet 8015e printer.
  3. Go to Advanced Settings (this will open the printer's Embedded Web Server in a browser).
  4. Click on the Settings or Printer Updates tab.
  5. Choose Firmware Updates or Web Services.
  6. Look for an option like “Automatically check for updates” or “Install firmware updates automatically” and toggle it OFF.
  7. Save or apply the changes.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Find your printer’s IP address:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Settings > View Network Details or print a Network Configuration Page.
  2. Open a web browser on your PC and type the printer’s IP address in the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).
  3. In the EWS interface, go to:
    • Settings > Printer Updates or Tools > Printer Update Options.
  4. Disable automatic updates.
  5. Click Apply.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
