Hi @Oded10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To ensure that your HP OfficeJet 5746 e-All-in-One Printer always prints background graphics, you will need to adjust the print settings in the software program you are using. Here's a general guide on how to do this:

  1. Open the Document: Begin by opening the document you wish to print in the software application you are using (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat).

  2. Access Print Settings: Go to 'File' > 'Print' to open the print dialog box.

  3. Modify Print Preferences:
    • Click on 'Properties', 'Preferences', or 'Print Settings' (the exact button may vary depending on the software).
    • Look for an option related to printing background colors and images. This might be labelled as "Print backgrounds" or "Print background colors and images".
    • Ensure this option is checked or enabled.

  4. Save Your Settings: After making the changes, click 'OK' or 'Apply' to save the settings.

  5. Print the Document: Proceed to print your document to check if the background graphics are included.

Note that these steps may vary slightly based on the software you are using, as print settings are typically configured within the application rather than the printer itself.

If you find that background graphics are still not printing, ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP OfficeJet 5746 e-All-in-One Printer | HP® Support and downloading the latest drivers for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I've done that multiple times, but when I go to print the next time, it reverts back, and I have to go and do this again and again.

How do I make this change PERMANENT, so I don't have to do it again?

Hi @Oded10,

Thank you for getting back and letting me know. In this case, I kindly request you to uninstall the printer driver, then reboot the device, and download the latest printer driver from the HP website.

After reinstalling the driver, please also install the HP App (HP Smart) and try setting up the printer again. Once done, test printing and let me know how it goes. I’ll be here to help you further if needed.

Keep me posted

Regards
VikramTheGreat
