Hi, I purchased a LaserJet M140W in 2022 and until January 2026 I printed remotely without any problems (so the warranty expired). Since February 1, 2026, I can no longer print remotely because the app sends the print job to Private Pick even if it is not selected. HP support says that the warranty has expired and that to renew it I have to pay €24/month!! For what? To allow me to print remotely, which is why I bought the printer in 2022, preferring it to other cheaper brands. Why HP? I don't think it's legal. I will write to the consumer protection bodies. Has anyone had the same problem and solved it by restoring remote printing? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Community --

In so much that I am aware, the following are true --

  • The Print Anywhere setup is not aware of the printer warranty nor the warranty's status.
  • Once enabled, premium print and scan features do not "expire".
  • Print Anywhere does not depend on the purchase of a post-warranty extended contract.

I am guessing the source of Private Pickup "stuck" is elsewhere.

If you have not done so,

  • Perhaps review the video  for who / when Private Pickup is necessary
  • Check the name of the user who has sent the remote print requests -- "Invited Users" require that Private Pickup be used to protect your privacy.
  • Check whether there are jobs stuck in the Queue -- stuck jobs, particularly those sent by an Invited User, might halt / enable Private Pickup until the job is cleared.
  • Restart your printer and Router
  • If you are willing to do so, Switch off your Phone - wait a minute - switch on
  • Check that your device and the printer are on the same network
