Hi @ellie360,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer that is offline!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Restart Printer and Computer
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your computer.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
2. Check Network Connection
- Ensure your printer is connected to your WiFi network. A solid blue light indicates that the printer is connected to WiFi.
- Verify that your computer is on the same WiFi network as the printer.
3. Set Printer to Online
- Go to “Control Panel” > “Devices and Printers.”
- Locate your HP DeskJet 2720e printer, right-click on it, and select “See what’s printing.”
- In the print queue window, click “Printer” and ensure it is not set to “Use Printer Offline.”
4. Restart Print Spooler
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type services.msc and press Enter.
- Scroll down to find the “Print Spooler” service, right-click on it, and select “Restart.”
5. Update Printer Driver
- Visit the HP Support page and download the latest drivers for your HP DeskJet 2720e.
- Install the updated drivers and restart your computer.
6. Reinstall Printer
- Go to “Control Panel” > “Devices and Printers.”
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2720e and select “Remove device.”
- Reinstall the printer by following the instructions provided on the HP installation software.
7. Check IP Address
- Ensure that your printer has a static IP address assigned. This prevents IP conflicts and ensures stable connectivity.
- Access the printer settings via the HP Smart App or the printer’s embedded web server and set a static IP address.
I hope this helps.
