@Lou8151, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It can be frustrating when your printer is printing slowly. Here are a few steps you can try to improve the print speed of your HP printer:
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer, then turn it on.
Turn off Quiet Mode:
- Quiet Mode reduces noise but can also slow down printing. You can turn it off through the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant.
Adjust Print Quality:
- Lowering the print quality can speed up printing. Make sure "Draft" or "Normal" is selected in the print quality settings.
Check Paper Type:
- Ensure that "Plain Paper" is selected in the paper type settings.
Update Printer Drivers and Firmware:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware installed for your printer.
Print with Both Cartridges:
- If your printer supports printing with only one cartridge, using both can improve print speed.
