My Samsung M2070 laserjet printer is printing bold black blobs at the end of paper and shoots out several pages of black blobs when sent a one page document. This happened after installing new operating system on Mac OS. Apple support was unable to resolve and referred me to HP. Printer warranty is expired so no help is available.

Hi @grammawmoses,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Samsung M2070 laser printer is printing bold black blobs after installing a new operating system on your Mac, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check for Driver Issues
- Reinstall the Printer Driver: Uninstall the current printer driver and download the latest version compatible with your Mac OS from the HP support website.
- Use Generic Drivers: Sometimes, using a generic printer driver can help. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and choose "Generic PCL Printer" as the driver.
2. Check Toner Cartridge
- Inspect the Toner: Remove the toner cartridge and check for any signs of damage or improper installation. Ensure it’s seated correctly.
- Shake the Cartridge: Gently shake the toner cartridge side to side to distribute the toner evenly.
3. Print a Test Page
- Try printing a test page directly from the printer's menu (if available) to see if the issue occurs without the computer's involvement. This can help isolate whether the problem is with the printer or the Mac setup.
4. Clear Print Queue
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and clear any documents stuck in the print queue.
5. Reset Printing System
- Resetting: In System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click (or hold the Control key and click) on the list of printers and choose "Reset Printing System." This will remove all printers and settings, so you'll need to re-add your printer afterward.
6. Firmware Update
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with new operating systems.
7. Physical Cleaning
- Check the Printer Interior: Open the printer and check for any toner spills or debris. Clean the inside with a soft, lint-free cloth, being careful not to touch the drum surface directly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
