"Smart App" software for Mac using Envy 7858

I'm trying to set up an Envoy 7858 with Mac 11.6. The software downloads fine, but crashes every time I try to open it! I can't get past this in the setup.

Hi,

Let’s try the HP Essential software instead of the HP Smart app and check for any difference then:

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

It didn't work. I didn't get the prompt to uninstall software, so I dragged and dropped the earlier attempts to the trash and emptied it. Then I followed the download steps and got the success message, but when I tried the to print the test page I get the message that I need to finish the install by downloading the HP Smart app. So I did...again and then restarted my Mac and for a looong sec it looked like it was going to work, but no. I am so disheartened by this process and HP's lack of costumer service. If you have any other suggestions I'd appreciate it. If not, then I will return this and try another brand with hopefully better support. Thank you for trying...THANK YOU!

I found how to do a complete Uninstall of all my previous HP software, THEN followed your steps and IT WORKED!!!
