I have a HP Officejet 5255 printer that I'm desperately trying to connect to my computer. How can I remove the system mode time out so when I put in the pin from the printer, it doesn't time out before my computer actually loads it. I have checked all the menu options on the printer and can't find it. Please help, I've been at this way too long. Thanks

Hello Diane-70,
After uninstalling the old printer driver as explained below, download the first one software which is 06.4MB.
Then download the full HP driver, which is 152.2 MB by clicking Download.
Then install them as shown in the procedure below.
Procedure :
You must uninstall the old driver in the Windows Control Panel, in "Programs and Features",
then right-click on the printer line, "delete". Delete all the occurrences that you find in:
Program and X86 Program, then, in the Control Panel, right-click on your old printer
(If it is still there, there is a good chance that it is not there plus) “Delete” it if present.
Restart the PC. Connect the printer to the power supply, turn it on, then connect a USB cord
1) to the PC side,
2) to the printer you Connect to USB, during installation ONLY when prompted.
(Towards the end of the installation). Start installing your printer by right-clicking
Setup. exe driver installed, installed ''fr as administrator'', let the printer install itself,
at the end restart the PC. To create a shortcut on the Windows desktop (to access your printer),
open the Windows Control Panel, right-click on the icon of your new printer, create a shortcut,
yes, on the desktop. A new shortcut has been created on the Windows desktop.
Open the Windows desktop, left-click on the newly created shortcut,
A printer menu appears (See below) with "ink levels", possibility: print, scan, fax, digitize.
If it works, you can delete the old shortcut on the Windows desktop.
Here's how to access the Control Panel, for those who don't have the shortcut:
*Turn on your printer, print a test page, by clicking on "Personalize your printer", ''Print a test page''. That's it, your printer is working again.
