Hi @raphnee

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like the printer is still linked to the previous owner's HP Smart account, which can prevent you from registering it under your own account.

Here are some steps to try:

1. Perform a Factory Reset

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to SetupPrinter MaintenanceRestore Factory Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.

2. Print the Printer Claim Code

  • Press the Wireless + Info buttons together to print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Look for the Printer Claim Code on the page.
  • If you don’t see it, try printing a Web Services Info Page from the printer’s settings.

3. Register the Printer in HP Smart

  • Go to HP Smart and log in or create an account.
  • Click Add Printer and enter the Printer Claim Code.
  • If the printer is still linked to the previous owner, you may need to contact HP Support.

Let me know if you need further clarification! 😊
